Hypertext

What is hypertext and what does it have to do with writing?

Hypertext is something that often refers to a larger collection or meaning. Similarly to the Wampum belt, a series of visual items are placed together to draw meaning of something larger. It honestly makes me think of memes. I think its relation has to do with the fact that one can view information in a non "regular" way, such as a paper where we are guided to read from start to bottom. NOt limited to text.
